Frequently Asked Questions.
Here are some common questions about NanoNC

1. Troubleshooting during equipment setup

  • 1.1. If the equipment does not power on:

    1. Check if the emergency button on the front is pressed; if pressed, turn it counterclockwise(CCW) to restore it to its original position.
    2. Check the status of cord wires, circuit breakers, and fuses on the rear.
    - a. If the cord wire is pulled, reconnect the power wire.
    - b. If the breaker is off, turn it on.
    - c. Replace the fuse if it is broken.

  • 1.2. If the lamp does not turn on:

    1. Check if the lamp and lamp holder are properly installed.
    2. Request A/S from us for transformer replacement.
(high voltage(HV) flowing to the lamp causing transformer failure.)

  • 1.3. If nanofiber collection is abnormal:

    1. Verify that the collector is connected to ground(GND).
    - a. Use a multimeter to measure the resistance between the collector and the ground(GND) of the power outlet or the ground(GND) of the multi-tap.
    - b. With power, the resistance value must be close to zero(0 [Ω]) or zero (0 [Ω]).
    - c. For drum collectors: first, measure the resistance between the collector (roll) and the ground(GND) end on the side with a multimeter.
    - d. If there is resistance, the shaft bearing on the drum collector must be replaced.
    - e. When the web thickens, apply (-) or (+) DC voltage to the collector to increase the potential difference.
(When the web thickens, the (+) or (-) charge generated by the high voltage(HV) generator does not leak into the collector, and the same charge may form on the surface of the membrane, preventing the electric field from forming.)

  • 1.4. If electrical noise occurs:

    1. Electrical noise: instantaneous noise, such as "tyriric" and "tick-tick.“
    2. Turn off the power immediately and contact us.
(There is a risk of fire.)

  • 1.5. If mechanical noise occurs:
    1. Mechanical noise: continuous noise, such as "giggling" and "crushing."
    2. Check if the cover part of the robot mechanism touches.
    3. Check if there is bearing wear noise in the LM block part.

(LM block part of the drive mechanism part needs to be replaced)

2. Troubleshooting for X-Y robot

  • 2.1. If the robot does not work:
    1. On the touch panel screen, touch X-robot and Y-robot to check the run speed (50mm/s or 3,000mm/min) and start point (50mm) and end point (200mm) values.

       - A. For older models: check the start speed (0.1mm/s or 1mm/min) and jog speed (15mm/s or 1,000mm/min ) settings.

       - B. For black and white touch screen models: check if the “enable value” is set to "1.“

    1. Touch the "X-jg" and "Y-jog" at the bottom of the touch screen to move the right and left to the jog to see if the mechanism is working.
    2. If the problem does not resolve:

      - It is suspected that the servo motor driver parameters within the machine controller need to be changed and verified. Please contact us.

3. Troubleshooting for high voltage(HV) power supply

  • 3.1. Discharge noise above 20 [kV] or current values above 0.5 [mA]:
    1. For alligator clips for high voltage(HV) applications:

       - A. Mutual discharge can occur at the sharp point of the alligator clip on the high voltage(HV) cable terminal. Insert an eraser into the contact area.

       - B. Ensure that the alligator clip jack connected by a high voltage(HV) cable has touched the ceiling metal inside the equipment.

    1. For nozzle plates for high voltage(HV) application:

       - A. Please check if any deposits have been created around you, and remove them.

    1. If the humidity inside the equipment is more than 50%:

       - A. High humidity can lead to high current values, especially when discharged into the atmosphere from above 15 [kV] to above 20 [kV]. In addition, continuous discharging and short circuits can cause equipment to fail.

       - B. For high humidity, a dehumidifier should be installed to keep the relative humidity at 40%.

(Install a dehumidifier or request the company to purchase it).

  • 3.2. If the voltage of the high voltage(HV) generator does not rise:
    1. Turn the voltage volume regulator(VR) to full counterclockwise(CCW) and the current volume regulator to full clockwise(CW).
    2. Keeps the high voltage (HV) ON/OFF button in the pushed state.

(Except from the (EXT-ADJ) button if it is a single model.)

    1. Turn on the power switch.
    2. Slowly turn the voltage volume regulator(VR) to see if the voltage meter is increasing.
    3. If a voltage falls at a particular voltage during a voltage rise:

Open the left cover of the equipment, disconnect the high voltage(HV) cable behind the internal high voltage(HV) equipment, and raise the voltage again.

    1. If there is no problem with the voltage rise, there is a problem with the cable, and a new purchase and replacement are required.
    2. If all of the above methods do not work, request A/S from us for high voltage(HV) generator replacement.

4. Troubleshooting for syringe pump's

  • 4.1. If the pump (EP100) does not power up:
    1. If the power adapter (12V) has an LED on:

       - A. Fuse replacement of the controller is required. Request A/S from us for controller replacement.

    1. If the LED is off on the power adapter (12V):

       - A. The power adapter must be replaced. Purchase a new adapter or request the company to purchase it.

  • 4.2. If the screw vibrates in the pump (EP100):
    1. If the discharge amount (less than 1 ul/min) is set too small:

       - A. Please check by increasing the amount of discharge.

       - B. Press [ESC] and [↑] keys at the same time on the controller and set to Tp: 0 (Default value:1).

       - C. Please contact us after making the changes.

  • 4.3. If a trip message occurs in the pump (EP100):
    1. Please disconnect the intermediate connector (4-pin) of the pump and reconnect.
    2. If the problem does not resolve:

       - It is suspected that the pump motor is disconnected. Please request repairs from us.

  • 4.4. If the pump (EP100) controller is loaded in normal operation, and the pump does not operate:
    1. Please check if the pump's pusher is locked.
    2. Check whether the connector connecting the pump motor and the controller is connected.
    3. Make sure to rotate by touching the pump intermediate screw while the power is on.
    4. If the problem does not resolve:

      - It is suspected that a problem with the motor drive (equipment) or the controller (EP100). Please request repairs from us.

  • 4.5. If the pump (KDS, EP100) controller is not displayed:
    1. It is suspected that High voltage(HV) short circuits may cause damage to the controller. Please request repairs from us.

  • 4.6. If the pusher does not move:
    1. Use a wrench tool to disassemble the pusher block at the pump.
    2. Clean the foreign substances in the hole where the screw in the center of the pusher block passes.
  • 4.7. If the pump discharge is different:
    1. Please compare the inner diameter value of the syringe according to the syringe volume set by the controller with the syringe volume value attached to the pump.

(Be aware of checking the inner diameter value and selecting the syringe.)

    1. If the problem does not resolve:

      - Please request repairs from us.

5. Troubleshooting for drum collector malfunction

  • 5.1. If drum collectors are making noise:
    1. Please check the tightness of the connection.

    2. Noise from bearings: bearings must be replaced. Please request repairs from us.

  • 5.2. If there is a change in roll speed:
    1. Check the RPM status of the controller:

       - A. If RPM fluctuations are severe, rotational speed fluctuations may occur due to overheating of the motor.

       - B. Normal condition should be checked after cooling the motor.

       - C. The motor can also be cooled by removing the side cover as a follow-up.
